Using your Sony PVM1344Q, take a look at the vertical interval. You, as an experienced video professional, should notice sloppy editing artifacts like tearing and inconsistancy in general. My experience with the GVR-S950 while animating a 600-frame animation from a Targa+ 64 using 3D Studio 2.01a was marginally acceptable. While this is acceptable for preview or proof-of-concept, the quality is such that I would not deliver paid-for animations to a customer. The impressive point with the Sanyo is the low-cost nature of the product. I almost flipped when I saw this product @ Siggraph and thought it would revolutionize the animation industry. At a certain level, it has. Most animators don't have bottomless pockets and rely on low cost equipment to sustain a business. Lets just make sure that a line is drawn between pro-sumer and industrial/professional applications. Happy editing, Marty Stidger (VMI)
