Dale, RGB is the companytha puts out AmiLink. Its an Amiga based
VLAN (video local area network – RS422, really) driver package with a
fairly nice user interface for linear editing. Unfortunately they
are suffering from prima donna programmer disease. The programmer
may know Amiga software, but he knows little about editing. So he
implements little items like edit list ripple the way he wants, not
the way the industry/users want. His manager is apparently not
strong enough to deal with the recalcitrant behaviour. Meanwhile the
user interface gets convoluted and hacked so the programmer can save
his ego while the users are beginning to fume.
The company is in Riviera Beach FL which, I believe is in North Dade
county near West Palm Beach. You can live pretty cheap in FL – like
rent a 3br 2bath house foraroune $500-$700 a month. Out here you
can't touch a studio for that!
