Joan, If you didn't erase anything from your disk, it is all still there. Have you tried just rebooting from your hard drive? That ought to make the machine behave exactly as it did before you typed the 'endcli' command that so alarmed you. After you have rebooted, and are left with AmigaDOS, just type LOADWB and you should have the Workbench back – the one on your hard drive. Now, did you keep the excellent instructions written to you by Jim Butterfield yesterday? If so, print them out and follow them to get your system set up to boot into the workbench. You say that when you turn on the computer you get a blank screen. Do you see some words across the top before it settles down to the blank screen? If you install from your Workbench disk again, you will overwrite the files that you put on the hard drive when you did the first install, but will not harm other files unless your hard drive is in trouble – and usually, if it is having trouble, you can read from it but cannot write to it. —Betty
