—Deja Vu warning, I'm posting this in two different forums since it kinda crosses boundaries.— Hello out there, Pardon my ignorance, but it seems the more I learn, the more I realize how little I know. I'm new to the graphics arena, so if you can help me out, or tell me where to go, I'd appreciate it. The scenario: a small audio/visual company with a b&w scanner/fax hooked up to a dos machine. A Video Toaster on an Amiga 2500 with ADPro 2.5 and DP IV. Using cross-dos to get files from one to another. What I want to be able to do, for instance, is to scan a company's logo using the dos machine, then take that logo into the toaster to wonderous things with it. Would also like to go the other way, that is say to start with a frame store, edit it, reduce the number of colors, etc. to make it a faxable file (or to include on coversheets, etc). Running into lots of knowledge gaps. I believe we've got the stuff to do what we want to, but need help. Must admit to a basic lack of knowledge of bit-planes, file formats, resolutions, etc. For instance, how does screen resolution in pixels translate to dpi ?(for the fax machine) Is there a simple way to do what we are trying to do? Can these questions be answered here? Is there a good source of the basic knowledge that I lack? Any assistance offered would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lee
