if you wish to have the patterns as part of your Workbench, under 2.x,
you WILL have to add a line to your startup-sequence. It is only under OS
3.x and the first release of MWB that you will not need to add a line to
the startup-sequence. I am quite aware that NickPrefs was not written by
the same person, but in accordance with the above, you have to have it to
get the best output for MWB, again limited to the first release. Your
fact checking is off.
It would be nice to run 3.x, but I have neither the money nor the
inclination, given the current situation vis-a-vis C=. I only spoke the
truth WRT the installation here. We don't all have dream machines.
