Here's the burst from the maunal regarding MagicWB-Demon NOTE: The entry to activate the MagicWB-Demon must be both in the user-startup and startup-sequence. This will ensure that the colors are always allocated in the right way even if some bootpic programs open a screen before the WB opens. So, do not remove any entries which were done by the MagicWB installer! BACKGROUND: The MagicWB-Demon must be launched after SetPatch and the ENV: assign but before IPrefs in the Startup-Sequence. The second start of MagicWB-Demon in the User-Startup will be skipped if it is already running. This entry is thought as a precaution if the Startup-Sequence should be overwritten or deleted by mistake. Note: Changing the last four colors of the MagicWB palette in the palette prefs program won't do anything to the actual colors on the WB screen. These last four colors are managed by the MagicWB-Demon, which is activated in the 'startup-sequence'. You should not change any of the original MagicWB colors if you don't know exactly what you are doing. If you intend to change the last four colors you will have to load the 'startup-sequence' into a text editor, search the line which starts the MagicWB-Demon and change those RGB 8-bit-values in that line. Since the MagicWB-Demon is started before its second start in the'User-Startup', any color changes only take effect if they are applied in the 'startup- sequence'. The second start of the MagicWB-Demon in the 'user-startup' is only done for safety reasons (if the 'startup-sequence' should be some- how overwritten by mistake). Alan
