Oh, I think it sort of depends on how you ask the question. If you just
ask "Do you think we should have Gun Control", you naturally get a very
large positive response. Nobody is in favor of criminals owning firearms,
after all. What those simple-minded polls do NOT measure is knowledge of
current gun control laws, since if you check you find that the "additional
gun control" laws the respondants favor are WEAKER than current laws. The
poor gun controllers still haven't gotten over the votes in Mass and
California to ban handguns. Pre-election polls showed that both measures
would win in landslides, both lost 2 to 1. Since then they try not to let
people vote on these things. <B evil G>
