[A Toyota turns to a BMW and asks, 'Who won the war?'] Actually, if you look at it from a historical process, each and every war that the US engaged in can be traced to a similiar jump in both the power and spending/taxing authority of the the Federal government. It's curious to see it on a graph until you place it in historical perspective. You might want to go back and see what powers Congress gave itself, as did the President (such as suspension of Habeus Corpus) during the Civil War. Do a simliar study on WWI and WWII. It got even worse during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Who would of thought that the President could impose wage and price controls! Not the Founding Fathers. The more I read about the economic history of the US, the madder I get. I can only recall the words of my grandfather. He was FDR's driver while FDR was Secretary of the Navy. "If I'da known what that son-of-a-bitch was going to do, I'da driven off the end of the pier." He was right. Always trust a Chief to speak the truth.
