Tim, The Imagine FX set of routines from Schreiber might have something that will help you. One of the things they did with it, (I've seen the video), is to simulate sawdust flying off the blade of a table saw as a piece of wood is pushed through. I'm not sure which modules of the FX routines were used, but it really gave the desired effect, and it sounds very similar to what you're trying to achieve. John
