AA Studio
Well, you're right. I can't speak about future plans for an extensible
programming language-but let me explain it this way. POCO is an invaluable tool
that many users are only now beginning to learn how to exploit. Hopefully that
trend will continue, but right now only in AAPro.
AAStudio will have support for Photoshop plug-in's filters for inks. This
promises to be an important feature.
I'm not sure about the importation of other file formats, but I don't believe
PP or Astound are directly supported. But that's the beauty of Windows, you can
import several type of files through cut and paste and other methods. What I
have seen though is the ability to import several file formats that are common
to multimedia applications. (AVI, TGA, GIF, etc.)
I haven't had the opportunity to really use Director, so it's hard to tell.
Director is more of an authoring tool, whereas AAStudio is a tool to be used in
the authoring process, much like 3DStudio.
Hopefully this gives you a little more insight.
