I would think this is rather some hardware problem. It just happens when you
use the new 3DS executable by some coincidence. I've been running the new
executable for quite a while with no problems.
You know the drill. Clean up both config.sys and autoexec, exclude everything
in upper memory and try it. If it runs, put the stuff back one at a time….
Things to look for: "Shared Memory" network cards conflicting with high memory,
these new fancy video boards that have a window somewhere in memory space
conflicting with real memory, sound boards, etc.
