There's no need to model the air. For your glass top you have to have the
outward facing polys with a RI of glass and the inner facing polys with
the RI of 1.0 (or 1.001 in 3.1) Just imagine the ray of light traveling
thru the table: Everytime it meets a surface, the poly "facing" the ray
has to have a RI of the medium being entered into.
