you are right, the smoke and mirrors marketing tactics of Newtek really serves no purpose other than to cast a shadow of doubt for those professionals who are seriously considering a non-linear system. I can just see Avid sales people telling their potential clients about NewTeks unattainable "D-2" quality claims. But a YC++ goes a long way for a few hundred bucks extra – NewTek should throw this device in with the package or ask for a nominal charge for it as an option, then they can at least stand straight and claim Component and Y/C support.
