Relax and slow down (so to speak). As the roller-coaster tutorial tries to make excrutatingly clear, you've got to be very careful to edit your motion dynamics from the beginning to the end, and don't go back and redo something that you've done before your current position. If you change something before your current spot, it'll affect everything down the road. Get your motion correct up to the point that you want it to slow down, and then don't touch anything before that. At that point, if you only touch frames later than that, none or your prior motion will be affected. – G
