You mean n & e? (had to think awhile what you meant) I logon from a Mac & in Mac-land, if you hold down the option key and then hit the n or e, it signals it to put in the tilda or accent respectively. When you hit the opt-n, you won't see anything happen till you hit the n again by itself. There ya go.
