Yes 3DS can read TIFFs with Alpha. However, the TIFF spec is one of the most flexible and complex formats ever created (read loose and incompatible). A program could define just about any raster format in TIFF spec. No program can read all TIFF variants. Where did this file come from? Assuming that this file is not just corrupt, can any other program view it? If so, try importing it into that program and resaving it. This may put it into one of the TIFF variants that 3DS can read. Try saving without compression, since this is one of the areas where compatibility usually suffers. Terry Gilbert Forcade & Associates
