I've missed most of this thread. What model Amiga are you using? I know
the 3000T and the 4000(T) have an (undocumented) audio-input connector on
the motherboard that is perfect for hooking up CD audio. It doesn't use
the Amiga's audio hardware for playback. It simply mixes the CD audio and
Amiga audio signals together so both are output to the RCA audio jacks at
the same time. This means you only need one connection to your amplifer
and that CD audio and Amiga audio can me heard at the same time.
If you have any other Amiga model, you will need to route the audio-out of
your CD-ROM to your amplifer with a separate cable.
