Actually, if it is just the A500HD+ and not the turbo 030 accelerator, you can use standard 1×9 30 pin simms. Thats what I use in my A2000 version of the series II card. Only the GVP accelerators require their proprietary simms as far as I know. I use the 1×9 3 chip version (also robbed from bad systems 🙂 I have 2 4×8 simms for a Mac, but I can't get them to work in this card. I haven't tried 1×8's, but they should work. The only difference in 1×8's and 1×9's is a parity chip. Some IBM compatables can use 1×8's if their CMOS supports disabling memory parity. In the Amiga, these parity chips are just not used. By the way, some of the 1×9 simms in by GVP board will give parity errors if installed in an IBM compatable (Thats why I got them so cheap 🙂 They are actually bad simms. If you're interested in fixing broken things for yourself or just want to get some good deals on simms (with or without bad parity chips), get access to the FIDONET. Its like a world wide public junk yard if you have access to the right Echo's (Echo's are to FIDONET what Forums are to Compuserve). If your interested in FIDONET, let me know. I pretty active on it now (And I use my Amiga on it, of course :-). –IBM compatable technician by day, Amiga madman by night– Rick Green, Mobile, Al
