#Miracle Piano
I called Software Tool Works and the technician of course informed me
that the Miracle Piano is no longer supported for Amiga and the software
archives have been exported entirely to UK. He didn't seem to have a
problem with copying of old Amiga releases of this software. I asked
him about cable compatibility with buying the PC version of the Miracle
Piano and driving it with Amiga Software. I was under the impression that
both systems plugged into the Serial ports. He mentioned however that the
PC cable is special and that the configuration has been modified so that
it is not used in the standard serial fashion. Do you think it may be
possible to determine how the configuration is modified and readapt a
PC miracle piano to an Amiga configuration to be driven with Amiga
software? The only odd thing I can make of this is that the techinician
mentioned that the company which actually produces the piano made the
cable configuration proprietary and that he did not know what the actual
differences were. What seems strange is wouldn't the Software Tool Works
developers need to know the differences in order to access the port
properly? Does this further to say that even if the cable was
reconfigured for the Amiga, the Amiga software would not be able to drive
the port? Big Question. What could possibly be reconfigured on a
standard serial port? Bottem line, I do not want to buy a PC just to use
the miracle piano. Do you know if there are any used Amiga Miracle
Piano's and software for sale?
