David,
You can probably do with about 2M memory. AP requires 2.04 or higher OS, 2M
memory, and about 5M hard drive. You can do with less drive space if you don't
do any histories, and if you download to different disks. It's the lack of a
hard drive that is causing your problems, not the lack of memory. 4M is more
than enough. Why not try doing your downloading with AP? Just set your
download path to a separate floppy, or else download to RAM: and then copy to
floppy as soon as you can so you won't lose it? It's largely the history and
catalog files that fill up your disk space….and the message files from large
forums can do it, as well, especially if you don't call regularly.
I'm sorry, but I never used JRCOMM, and I just don't know what your problem
would be with that. I know that it has been replaced with a newer program and
is no longer supported. Maybe you need to get a newer term program.
Wish I could be more help.
