Michael,
I'd rather buy an '040 accelerator than a PAR; it would give me much, much
more bang for the buck. One thing I like about recordable optical discs is
their archival ability: every bit of experimental crap I've ever produced
is on the disc, ready to be played to long-suffering friends. <g> Oh, and
I'd never dream about carrying my optical disc recorder around. It weighs
a ton, and I got it for $15,000 off <bg> so I consider an irreplaceable,
one-of-a-kind unit. Heck, repairs on that industrial behemoth would
probably cost more than a PAR. And I wouldn't have the archival
capability.
The many replies I've received, here, and in CEVideo, have got me
convinced. My next purchase will not be an accelerator as I'd thought, but
a S-VHS VCR.
Blaq!
