Thanks for the info on render gardening.
I am still new to 3DS. I only have one computer now. I was reading in Inside
3D Studio and also the Advanced Users Guide about network rendering. Both
these documents said that you could utilized some of 3DSr3's network rendering
features even if you only have one machine. I am confused about what that
meant.
How can you do that? Does that just mean that you can create something like a
"print manager" which will allow you to prepare a list of files to be rendered?
Can you could render 3DSr3-4 files using Windows NT as an OpSys? It seems that
if you could, you would be able to take advantage of a multi-processor equipped
machine. Ofcourse, it may be cheaper to purchase several used dos equipped
single processor machines to use as a rendering farm.
Also, I am glad to hear that 3DS 4 is now shipping. I will probably upgrade in
a month or so. I wanted to wait until things die down a little.
