Kevin, I really don't think that's the cause. I doubt the closest color to ALL my bright objects would be black! Anyway, I'll be awaiting your answer. FYI, all the objects in the scene are self-illuminated (galaxies and stuff)– there are no lights in the scene at all. Does the fast previewer require lights in order to shade anything? (I guess that's just the same question as before). -Jeff
