Hi Laurent, This is a reply to the add posted on CompuServe in connection with the VR medical project. Let me start of by telling you a bit about myself. I was born in South Africa were I lived for most of my life. At 19 years of age I was network manager (Novell) for the Correctional Services and at the same time a computer technician with IBM platform computers. Among my many task was hard and software diagnostics and maintenance and setting up of networks. My real interest was computer graphics and I used Corel v2 and Powerpoint (the only tools available to me in those early years before 3D Studio or any other animation package) I created business and advertising projects. In 1992 I acquired 3D Studio rel 2 and decided that this was what I wanted to do. I am 24 years old now. I left South Africa visited London for as short time but ended up here in the USA were I worked on many 3D projects. I went to school in New York City at the Pratt School of professional studies & arts in Manhattan were I studied traditional animation and earned a 3D Studio certificate (Pratt school is a registered Autodesk training center) Projects that I have worked on was: Screen savers for companies big and small with there logo animated. Megan Project – A soon to be released CD texture Mac program Cable One advertising for a TV commercial – Toyota add – flying logo MEGACUBE game design, (might be release as VR CD game) Some of my modeling work is to found on the Syndesis CD volume 2 and on to be released volume 3 All these above mentioned project excludes all the in-house work that I have done. On many of my projects I was assisted and tutored by David Avgikos and I also own the Digimation videos. I have not done any medical animation other than a demo to a doctor friend where I animated a elbow joint moving with flexing mussels, I am very interested in this field. I do know a few companies that will have most of the human anatomy modeled but should you need any modeling done – I have had experience with Hyperspace software and would be able to assist you with any modeling. I have been monitoring VR Systems and are planning to purchases a system in January 1995 on release. The system I am waiting for is from a company called Forte, the Vfx1 head mount system. My computer specs is – 486 DX2, CD-ROM, 16 MB RAM, 500 MB SCSI HD. I am purchasing the Personal Animation Recorder with 1 Gig HD that will allow me to put my demo reel together – until then all I can send you is FLI / FLC files or the Toyota add that is on NTSC video tape. I have just upgraded to 3D Studio rel 4 and see a lot of potential in the IK for medical visualization. I own a few IPAS routines and every possible book printed on 3D Studio. I now live in the State of New Jersey and have no problem to relocate to France, Paris and will be able to move there early January 1995 (sooner is possible but I have a few classes to complete that ends in mid December) I have references ready on request. I hope that the above information is adequate and should there be any further question please do not hesitate to contact me on CompuServe. Hoping to hear from you soon Regards, Marius
