No good excuse for a poor manual. Time and cost at this stage in the product cycle is the general problem. Most of the IPAS programs out are first releases. It takes a solid month after the program is complete to be able to finish the documentation. Tutorals can not be done at all until the program is finished but need to be created before the documentation is completed. On a first version of a product this is generally to costly. As the products get upgraded the manual and tutorals have a bases to start from and will not take as long to complete after the changes to the program have been made. For example, 3D Studio still drags around some of the same example mesh files from 3 years ago. I would expect that some of the R4 example 3DS files will be loaded, converted and included again in MAX. A good example will still be a good example. We need to get products out as soon as possible after the programming is complete. Products like Key Factory were worked on for more than a year which is a lot of sunk cost. With a second version, the first version contains to provide revenue while finishing the release which makes waiting easier. Keith.
