Hi All Another new kid on the block ! New to Compuserve this forum and 3DSv4, it arrived last Monday. I have been using V2 for around 6 months at one of my clients and now have taken the plunge and got myself a copy, so I can do the work here. It was all going well this week and I have a very nice animation to do for a new client. Then yesterday evening I was doing a fli render @ 320×200 as a preview of the 250 frame animation and BOOM ! it got to frame 105 (?) and crashed to DOS with an illegal Instruction error. I went home in a dark mood… When I ran it again this morning I get a memory protection fault CS:EIP = 000fh:0011305eh ??? Its the weekend and my dealer is not around to hold my hand, can anyone out there please help ? 3DS was installed right out of the box, just setup for my video card etc. The machine is a Pentium 90 with 32megs, 1.5 gig scsi H/D video is diamond stealth 32. The animation has now just rendered OK ? all I did was to restart 3ds regards Tim Coupland, Field of Vision, London, England.
