flicker frames HELP
I hate to admit it, but you've almost got me stumped. The reason I was talking
about the 256 color options was that you hadn't mentioned previously what your
output was, and it was a possibility. None of that palette stuff applies if
your output is .tga's.
I think the crucial clue is that it's happening as the camera gets closer to
the concrete. Here are a couple more things to try:
Check your Z-clip-near parameter in the Renderer/Setup dialog to make sure it's
at 1.0. If it is already, try a smaller value. (Note; the manual says 1.0 is
the minimum, but I seem to recall somebody saying they'd successfully used a
smaller value.)
Change the material of the object (or faces) in question to something else (it
doesn't matter what, but preferably a straight phong color with no mapping) to
see if it still happens. If it does, you've eliminated the material as a
source.
Render the troublesome area through the frames in question from a different,
non-camera viewport. If it still happens, you've eliminated the camera path.
If you've done all the above and still haven't made it go away, it's gotta be
either the lights or <g> the notorious FPU bug!
Curiouser and curiouser! Keep me posted.
