Hi Thiemo,
Your 2000PRO/X-8 should run with 3DS at the resolutions that you want. You
should first test the resolution using the DOS program called winsetup ("win"
here comes from "Winner" <g>). So, use winsetup and configure a 1600×1200
resolution with 32 bpp and the highest refresh rate that your monitor can
accept (the board will do up to an 85 Hz refresh rate at the resolution).
Note the x and y resolution values, the bpp value, and the refresh rate. Then
edit the ELSAADI.PRM file located in the ADI driver's directory. Add the
following lines to the file: (I will use a refresh rate of 85 Hz here)
-xres 1600
-yres 1200
-bpp 32
-hz 85
-xres_rnd 1600
-yres_rnd 1200
-bpp_rnd 32
-hz_rnd 85
Of course you need to configure 3DS to use the ADI driver for display and
render. If you have any questions about the "xres" values and the ELSAADI.PRM
file, then please refer to the manual. You can find "xres" and "elsaadi.prm"
in the index. That will then point you to more specific information.
Of course if you have further questions, feel free to send email, or even
better, come visit us in the ELSA compuserve forum, GO ELSA.
Sincerely,
Tom
