Mike: >> I'd like to know from an Autodesk representative exactly what the functionality of 3ds r4 is under windows '95 on a Micron 90 with 64 meg of ram and a Diamond Stealth 64 video card. << First off, Autodesk does NOT support running 3DS under Windows95. Having said that, it can be done and the general scuttlebutt is about a 10% loss of speed in rendering IF you get it running. Many people have mentioned that using ALT-TAB to switch between applications has caused a black screen crash with some video cards and hardware. I don't know off the top of my head which specific hardware configurations cause this problem. FWIW, I do not recall a single forum member stating that they can render at a faster clip under '95 vs. under DOS on the same machine, nor do I recall anyone stating that they could achieve even equal render times under '95 when compared to DOS on the same machine. – Bob Ritger
