First off, Autodesk does NOT support running 3DS under Windows95. Having said
that, it can be done and the general scuttlebutt is about a 10% loss of speed
in rendering IF you get it running. Many people have mentioned that using
ALT-TAB to switch between applications has caused a black screen crash with
some video cards and hardware. I don't know off the top of my head which
specific hardware configurations cause this problem. FWIW, I do not recall a
single forum member stating that they can render at a faster clip under '95 vs.
under DOS on the same machine, nor do I recall anyone stating that they could
achieve even equal render times under '95 when compared to DOS on the same
machine.
