Is there any method for inserting a frame into an animation?
or do I need to spool all the tgas in order onto the par again?
You can import the targa's that were bad, assuming they are in order to a new
ani file and use the split function and join to put them back together. I find
it easier usually to just re-import them if it is not too many files.

< the docs don't mention an aspect ratio only 752×480.
< I've defaulted to 1.00…should this be different?
.83 aspect ratio
I have also found that a block factor of 240 works the best with a Q=23.
