Hi, Jason!
>>Hi Aleksey! I downloaded the magic sword file, I think its really cool.
>>Aurora looks really neat, how much is it? And when will it be available?
>>Nice job on the sword mesh!
Thanks. I'm glad you liked the sword.
Version of Aurora it was created with had many problems,
including problem with the handle (aura should not go over handle)
and the fact that fighting with two of this swords was impossible,
because Auras would not allow swords to touch each other.
That was 6 month ago (even before Refraction Mapping was
concieved).
Now, we are adding atmosphere density support, so part of
the sword enterd into other sword's aura will be less visible,
because we can calculatwe how deep it is inside the Aura
and make it less visible according to the density you specify
with simple gradient: we are planning to support *.GRD
(HSC Gradient Designer) format.
If everything will work OK, according to specs, you should expect
Aurora to be priced around $50 more then Refraction (because
it is much more complicated and has much higher utility for the user);
if we will have to drop some features – expect lower price.
Planned delivery date – AutoDesk University. So far me meet
that schedule (but who knows).
