John: PMFJI, but the application I am developing uses a Pioneer 8000 for its quick search and retrieval and I have been snooping around Scala wondering of its suitability for quick prototyping. I have a Pioneer doc that gives the basic communication protocol (including the still command) which I could forward to you, if you like. While I can't give up my player for long periods of time, I'd be happy to loan it for a couple of days to someone in NY beta-testing for you — or beta-test it myself. I've done some beta-testing in the past (Impulse's Foundation for example) while running the old AmiEXPOs. I don't think we've met, but then the shows were quite hectic in their heyday.
