Internet EMail (and UseNet) can't handle binary files (like JPG's). Therefore
the files you received have been converted to some sort of ASCII before they
where sent. This conversion is called UUencoding.
If you want to you use those files you'll have to convert them back from
ASCII-format to binary-format (UUDecoding). There are a number of utilities
available to do that. I use UUxt myself but if you do a search with the keyword
'UU', I'm sure U will find a bunch of them.
