#HELP-Modem set w AMTCP
Ok I give up. Will someone please help me with a problem I am having
disconnecting from the NET, with my modem (a Zoom V.34- 28800).
First some back ground on Hard/Software;
Amiga 2000- wb2.05 and rom, 4megs, GVP SCII-2 HD, Flicker Fixer.
PPP1.5 – AmiTCP3.0b2 – Used Intercis1.11 to install.
Amosaic 1.2
After several attemps I was able to get on the Net. Now I have the problem of
getting off. What is the proper proceduree to diconnect??? By ending the
programs in what ever order I am still left with a carrier detect light.
Stopnet cannot seem to get rid of it. it responds with a message "carrier still
present". I am unable to to get rid of it. To date the only way I been able to
reseet the modem is to start up AutoPilot1.8 have it to go online then tell it
to go offline. this takes care of the problem until the next time I go to the
Net. Turning it off does nothing. This has to be considered unacceptable; not
to mention the fact that this a real pain in the neck!!! ;^)
I assume that it has to do with the way I am initializing the modem and or
leaving the net. I have tried several different ways of setting the string,
from ATZ to the way it is now, as it is in AP, ATZ&C1&D2 (AP works great!). I
have not been able to find a way to edit the setup (prefs?) any other way than
to re-install AmTCP. Please tell me there is a better way and perhaps even what
I am doing wrong. The more I fool with this thing the more confused I am
getting.
What I am doing has to be wrong.
I hope that one of the dieties on CIS will find time to help me out.
Any and all help is welcome…PLEASE…:^)…Thanks.
