Ed, We don't do "Windoze"! Scala MultiMedia MM100 for the PC will work in the 32-bit memory protected mode. This means no 640KB DOS limit, HMA, UMB, XMS and EMS nonsense to deal with. We are adding our own microkernel layer on top of MS-DOS called MMOS (Multimedia Multitasking Operating System), which will add multimedia and light-duty multitasking to DOS. The Scala GUI, we call it "Human Touch" will be familiar, however, we have enhanced it and taken it to the next generation. This means better functionality and faster productivity. EX modules for sound cards, audio/video peripherals (i.e. laserdisc, VCRs, genlocks, MPEG decoders) will be included. The modular, object-oriented software design of MMOS, Human Touch, Playback module and EXes is called "Backbone". This allows us to create platform independent, scalable products. Indeed, the MM100 product will be delivered on a CD-ROM. Certainly there are some things that the Amiga graphics can do that the PC can't and vice versa. Indeed, we are utilizing a great deal of our Amiga experience and adding it to the MM100 product. In any case, we believe that we will introduce a product that is going to shock, amaze and scare (they're gonna love it) manufacturers and users alike. Indeed, the operative word here is "different".
