#New Virus
Dan,
>> Looking through the messages, it seems like there's some debate as to the
viability of this process. <<
I can confirm that the DOC-virus Dan is talking about really does exist.
Microsoft even wrote a Word-macro to prevent the virus of causing trouble. If
installed, this MS-macro is executed everytime Word is started. I work in a
multinational and they sent out a notice to all personal using Word 6.0, to
install that MS-macro.
The virus itself is a macro that is automatically executed everytime you open
an infected-document. It then installs itself in the other (open?) doc-files it
can find. Many of my collegues send DOC-files on a daily basis with the
company's EMail-system, so you can see this virus can spread *very* fast.
The Microsoft-macro I mentioned above also came with a DOC-file explaining how
the virus works, so I can send it to anyone who is interested.
