If you have only internal drives, the controller must be terminated, as well as the last physical device. Thats what my tech support manual says, anyway. I don't remember being able to remove the 040 card termination, but I'll look into it. Since my system was terminated externally (passive) and internally (passive), as well as on the controller, that could be a problem, although I have run several systems like this with no failures _ever_. On the matter of mixing termination, I didn't stop to think that the external CDRom is passive termination. That was a good point, but it didn't make a difference in my setup.
