Indeed, both supervising animators, John Gross and myself are on
Compuserve regularly. We have recently delivered effects for two
more Voyager episodes and are working on two more currently. I will
be happy to detail what effects we did AFTER the pilot airs monday
1/16…I don't want to spoil anything about it. I think Kate is very
much up to the task, the stories are becoming quite exceptional
already in the early scripts and the acting and effects are worthy of
the films IMHO.
I'd love feedback after it airs.
P.S. Note also that while we did the majority of all CGI shots in
the pilot, the CGI graphics for the pilot open was done primarily by
Santa Barbara Studios, with additional elements from Amblin and the
STV effects team. Also, one short but very important CGI sequence
was completed by Vision Arts, and the HUGE amount of non-CGI effects
shots was created by the Emmy-award winning Star Trek effects team,
supervised by Dan Curry and David Stipes. The pilot was an immense
team effort.
