OK, the next thing to check is that picture of a hand holding up a Workbench disk. Near the disk, you'll see a designation that says V1.2 .. or maybe V1.3. For your information, the V1.2 verion will take either 1.2 or 1.3 Workbench disks. It's also useful to know that quite a few users have upgraded their 1.3 systems to something more recent, so that the old disks are just sitting around. So you're about ready to post a new message along the lines: "I'm in Carson City NV, and I've just gotten an Amiga 500. But there are NO system disks with it – no Workbench, no Extras, no nothing. "Would anyone have the AmigaDos 1.3 Enhancer Software package, complete with documentation? Or, failing that, can I arrange to get a replacement of the disks that obviously belong with my system?
