Video Toaster/Flyer
Hello,
I was introduced to the Amiga and NewTek products. I was very impressed with
the quality and price and am considering purchasing these products for my
business. What I want to do, is to save money by using the products to
revitalize some already produced commercials and if possible, create some new
ones using the animation capabilities. An investment such as this is not
really in my budget, but if I could see some immediate savings on studio time
and technical consulting it may be worth it.
I have some questions for the knowlegable people here, if anyone would care to
address them it would be appreciated.
1. Is it worth it? I will need high quality – to be broadcast on major and
minor stations. If it is going to appear amateurish then it definitely won't
be worth it for me.
2. Can my technical people self-teach themselves the systems or is this going
to require a complete paradigm shift. (My technical people are PC and AS400
oriented. In the video area, no one is conversant with NLE.)
3. A person such as myself who is "artisticly" oriented and a mild computer
Geek, (but by no means an expert) — will I be able to pick up the workings of
the Toaster/Flyer?
4. What will I need to invest in (I'm starting from scratch)? For
example…to plug one of my commercials into my system and then work it and
have it ready for broadcast will I need a digital deck? (I hear this is about
$50,000) Video monitors? Beta SP? Etc..etc?
thank you to anyone who responds.
You can send it to me E-mail if you prefer.
regards,
Paul M
