George, I have The Director 2, hold it in great praise, yet don't use it currently. I don't have a use for its abilities at the moment, and will probably buy Scala this year, what with the price being $150 and all. In addition, for light multimedia, I would probably turn to AmigaVision; but if I ever need to do serious programming, I'll certainly blow the dust off my D2 package. One example: I want to create a macro to automatically dump an entire CD-ROM's worth of stock images to my optical disc recorder, thus creating an instant-access visual catalogue. I'd use The Director to display the filename of each image on my Amiga screen, which would automatically overlay the 24-bit image displayed by my Firecracker24 board. The video output would be recorded (1 frame) on my optical disc recorder. This is the kind of thing which I feel would be perfect for the enhanced programming capabilities of D2. In conclusion, I don't really use D2 currently, but you can certainly put me on any reference list of yours. I'm a competent programmer, a great troubleshooter, and am always on the lookout for stimulating technical conversation. Blaq!
