Kermit & Asha… primarily use IMFX 1.5 as a frontend to my Frago Primera printer. At work I have high end machines with scanners and PhotoShop where I do all the scanning and prep of the images I later bring home to print on the Fargo. As good as IMFX 1.5 and 2.x are they just cannot compare with PhotoShop for the day to day work a photographer needs to perform on the images. IMFX is the best image on the photographic end of the art spectrum enough for me. I don't need to warp/lightening/blur/bend/solarize/colorize or any other of those. What I need is to spot/color correct/resize/crop/sharpen images and do it as easily as possible and as fast as possible. None of the Amiga Image processing software compares with PhotoShop in these areas. Most brag about their ability to distort images not just prepare them for output to a printing device. IMFX has virtual memory that works and so I like it (paid $230 a couple of years back). An up costing another $125 cannot be justified since I can purchase PhotoShop at the educational price of $248 to work with my Emplant. I want to support the Amiga developers, and understand the economy of scale but I have my own economy to worry about and so only upgrade now when there is real good justification to do so. Again IMFX 1.5 is my Amiga program of choice (because it has virtual memory and Firecracker support (I also own ImageMaster 1.6 and AdPro 2.5). Wish I could justify upgrading but the cost to benefit ratio is just to high for me. ..Carl
