Just setting a new in-point requires an all-new render. Yes, it is always better to do real time editing with an easy way to make changes. This all-new render is a disadvantage of all single stram DNL systems. If I were doing a very simple job, cuts only, with minimal cross-fading, you'd be right. But for a 15 minute short film with a relatively complicated mix, my way will be far, far faster. Yes, but You have to have the ability to synchronize video and audio via LTC or other time code. If You have the appropriate equipment, it will be no problem, but otherwise it would cost a lot of money (seen from the consumer's view. professionals can calculate otherwise). AFAIK it is a scsi.device issue but not fixed yet. Macrosystem confirmed this disadvantage also and I assume the _know_ it really. regards, Dirk Taggesell
