In fact, the only codecs that seem to work well are the Autodesk ones, and these are completely unsuitable for playback. hi. 🙂 you're correct… the Autodesk codecs are not intended for playback. they are 24-bit lossless so that there is no degredation for further editing sessions. as to MS RLE, that codec is what it is. some codecs have varying degrees of lossyness. you may wish to check out some of the other codecs too. Indeo Cinepak aren't that bad. >> waste of time. As well, we us AAPro to do lots of colour cycling. When importing these colour cycling animations into aas, all we get is a range of frames of the same image. If we NUMPIC these to BMP's and import this sequence into aas, everything works fine. Why? << it has to do with the file formats themselves. once you numpic out to BMP images, the actual register values for each frame are hard coded into the palette portion of the file (BMP). when these are imported… there is no more "cycling" (additive palette treatment of delta), only the physical register data of each frame. -dave
