Hi, I also do not have children in that age range (mine are younger), but I would add my 2 cents that 3DStudio is *probably* too difficult for someone that young, but it depends on the sophistication of the child. Some kids are very computer savvy at age 3,, some people at the age of 39 still haven't figured out how to use 3DStudio(that would be me <g>). I have successfully created animations in Animator Pro (after some instruction from my husband and a lot of time looking in manuals). I think that the manuals might be where a 13 year old would bog down. The language is technically oriented and intended for an adult reader. However, I would not balk at buying AniPro as a gift, with the idea that at the start it may only be used as a Paint Program, which might inspire the child to work very hard to create animations from those *stills*. It's a great program, and a 13 year old might not be quite ready for it, but a 15 year old ???
