Robert,
I've just been doing a little evesdropping and…….. I'M SURE THIS ISN'T YOUR
PROBLEM BUT…..
I spent three weeks chasing crash ghosts on two of my machines. It turned out
to be a bad RAM SIMM on both of them! I tried testing all the RAM with various
hardware "test" program. They all reported the memory was fine but when I
finally swapped it out with new RAM the problem was fixed. Put the old ones
back in, problem reappered, etc. Also only 3ds would have a problem on these
machines, other software ran fine. (Most other software doesn't use every byte
of memory the way 3ds does.)
Also many PC's (some 486's) and all Pentium Triton machines don't do parity
check anymore. It isn't in the hardware.
Good luck,
Steve
