Don't worry. Gates would not be interested in old fashioned analog video technology like the Toaster. All his multi-media moves are indicating that his interest lies in digital video, video on demand, (more like point-to-point video/audio/graphic/text network to compete with the broadcast network concept.) He would more likely go after some system based on CCIR 601 (uh oh, that number doesn't look right) D1-based system using square pixels and HDTV compliant technology. Due to the lack of Y/C or component handling and the composite D2 basis, I think the days of Toaster desirability for a takeover are rapidly coming to a close. If it was going to happen, iwould more likely have been Sony, Grass valley, Panasonic, etc that would have been the suitors, IMHO. BTW, none of the above has ANYTHING to do with how useful the Toaster is as a video production tool. (I have 2 – they have bee worth every penny I've spent on them.) It relates only to how attractive the company is to a larger company wanting to expand its tecnology base with an eye toward where that technology is heading. wmc – via Autopilot!
