John,
>>I'm still holding my breath for the PC-based Amiga emulator, though. It
wouldn't surprise me if one arrived someday, probably from Europe. I'm also<<
Funny you should mention this … I doubt whether this will ever happen but
looks like it may work the other way around. The German firm Eagle (who
normally make Tower cases for Amigas) are advertising in the Nov issue of Amiga
Magazin new PC bridge boards. It would appear from the ad that there will be 2
types on offer – a 486 based card and a Pentium based card. They state that
these could be installed in a standard A2000, or used with A3000/4000 in
conjunction with a shuttle board (for their towers) which includes 7 ZIII, 2
Video, 3 ISA (PC Bus) and 4 PCI (PC bus) slots.
There is no mention of whether they are availabel now or not but prices quoted
are from DM758 for the 486 board and DM 1140 for the PCI based pentium board
(both without CPU).
They will be at the Kvln, Amiga Show in Nov, so will ask about availability.
