If you've never done it before, it's an experience. 🙂 Anyway, find the SCSI chip, if it's the proto chip, it should be printed on top. As far as I know most/all 3000's had that chip, but don't hold me to that. You should be able to get the regular SCSI chip via mail order, or maybe even locally. It's a simple pull out the old chip, and plug in the new one operation. Easy, if you have a chip puller. As for the SCSI chip's location, I'm not certain where it is, but I think it should be near where the SCSI cable plugs into the motherboard, under where the HD is mounted. Jim
