Himanshu, As a general rule, when you move from one computer environment to another….you will find that your old software can't come with you. While you can create (and in this case…there is) an emulator to make your new computer act like your old computer….in most cases, the emulator has very limited usefulness. That must be taken into consideration when moving from one computer to another…..you'll more than likely need all new software. You must consider why you want to go from one system to another and then decide if that reason is good enough for you to go to the expense of getting all new software. There is one other consideration you can make…. You already have the C=64 and it's software. While your system has plenty of value for you….it may have very limited value if you tried to sell it to someone else. I would be surprised if you could sell a fully configured C=64 system for much more than $500, and probably alot less than that. In that case….it may well be worth your while to keep the C=64 and all it's software and purchase your new system as a 2nd system. Then, as you gradualy buy software for your new system that does the special things you bought the new system for, you will probably find you use the C=64 less and less. At some point, it's value to you will decrease to the point where selling it for $<whatever> will make sense to you and at that point…you'd sell it. With the money you'd make from the sale…you could go ahead and buy the 1 or 2 pieces of software for your new system that match what you currently have with the old system…and still would like to have that type of software.
